Recognition and Momentum: Inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who

In Workcation: What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas? I shared that I had an interview with a wonderful organization. During the interview, I had an opportunity to share how I have advocated for military families, my employment challenges and how Referrals Led to Business at Home, and my work supporting nonprofits to include My New Role as Executive Director with SMSS: Stepping Into Leadership for Military Spouses in STEM. Today, I am truly excited to share with you that I have been accepted for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who in America. A press release was published yesterday with the announcement.

If you know me, you know I am not an extrovert, and I don’t usually draw a lot of attention to myself. I mean, I only just now have over 500 connections on LinkedIn. I was genuinely surprised and deeply honored when Marquis Who’s Who reached out to me. During the interview, I had no problem talking about various challenges military spouses face and how being involved in the coalition for the Military Spouses Residency Relief Act was a big accomplishment for me because I stepped outside my comfort zone. That bill, being signed into law, was the reason I registered to vote.

This recognition feels like a meaningful affirmation of the advocacy, mentorship, and leadership work I have poured into supporting military spouses over the years. Marquis Who’s Who highlights professionals for notable achievements, and inclusion offers visibility and credibility. For my business operations consulting and Homefront Hustle mentorship, it opens doors to new connections, potential clients, and opportunities to advocate even more effectively for military spouses in portable careers. I am thrilled at the opportunity to connect with fellow listees and explore how we can support each other in making an even greater impact.

Building on that momentum, this past week my sailor and I have been working to prepare for our move to Florida. We have been changing our address with all our various accounts, and we scheduled the mailing change of address to happen this week. Nathan completed his Google CyberSecurity certification and has started his Project Management Professional certification. I onboarded two new clients for my Business Operations Consulting services and welcomed a new Homefront Hustle mentee. This adaptable entrepreneurship and remote-friendly operations continue to provide sustainable flexibility and work-life integration as we transition.

I am also looking to connect with others who have an interest in supporting military families, STEM access, women’s advancement, entrepreneurship, or professional credentialing, whether you’re an individual who gives, a corporate giving leader, a foundation contact, or just have ideas/connections. I’d genuinely love to hear from you. Here you can read my full LinkedIn post about this request for connection.

This is our last week in Arizona with my family. On Tuesday, we are celebrating a birthday. On Wednesday, we are going to see a comedy show. Thursday and Friday, between meetings, we will be packing and cleaning to prepare for the drive that will take us four days. I am not sad because we will see my family again soon.
